DAYTIME: EXPLORING NATURE BOOK CLUB

FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH
1:30 - 3 P.M.

 

This monthly discussion group is facilitated by different group members each month and meets from September through June. Books are chosen twice a year by group members.

Books to be discussed in 2023:

  • Jan 3rd: Share a book you've recently read that others might enjoy.

  • Feb 7th: Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr

  • Mar 7th: The Fox and I by Catherine Raven

  • April 4th: National Poetry Month - share a favorite nature-themed poem

  • May 2nd: Embrace Fearlessly the Burning World: Essays by Barry Lopez

  • June 6th: The Falcon Thief: A True Tale of Adventure, Treachery and the Perfect Bird by Joshua Hammer

  • Sept 5th: Silent Spring Revolution: John F. Kennedy, Rachel Carson, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon and the Great Environmental Awakening by Douglas Brinkley

  • Oct 3rd: Finding the Mother Tree: Discovering the Wisdom of the Forest by Suzanne Simard

  • Nov 7th: The Collector: David Douglas and the Natural History of the Northwest by Jack Nisbet

  • Dec 5th: The Map that Changed the World: William Smith and the Birth of Modern Geology by Simon Winchester

EVENING: NIGHT OWL BOOK CLUB

THIRD TUESDAY OF THE MONTH
7 - 8:30 PM

This monthly discussion group is designed for people who can't make the daytime book club. Books are chosen twice a year by group members.
