Morse Wildlife Preserve Education Programs

A collaboration with Cascade Land Conservancy,
Tahoma Audubon and TogetherGreen.org
October 2009
On October 13 and 15 about 100 students, teachers and parents from Rocky Ridge Elementary School visited the Morse Wildlife Preserve in Graham, WA to volunteer, learn and become stewards for the second year of the Prairie Restoration Project. Through a grant from the TogetherGreen organization, an alliance between the National Audubon Society and Toyota, we will be able to bring these students back to the preserve three more times this year.
Please view this video which highlights the students' first visit to the Preserve during the October 2008!
This program is designed to give the students an awareness about the natural areas near their homes, and the means to help rehabilitate the habitats for the wildlife that lives there. Through education and volunteering, the students will learn about science, ecology, and respect for the nature around their homes. The students use the information they collect from the Prairie Restoration Project to enhance their science curriculum and help the stewards at the Cascade Land Conservancy decide which restoration methods to use for a large -scale restoration effort.
